Weekly Optimizing Tip

A.
Links
If
you want to achieve top performance
in Google,
Yahoo and now Bing you have to
build up some topic relevant links.
The value of link exchanges are questionable anymore.
Google, Yahoo and Bing seem to prefer one way links from other
topic relevant web pages with lots of relevant content. If
your web page is focused on web site optimization, then links to
your site should be similar such as

Optimization or

best way to get lots of one way
links is to keep unique and
relevant content on your web pages and lure other sites to link
to your page because of your content.
B.
Alt Tags
Alt label your web photos
either with a web page editor or by adding the
alt="how to optimize your websites"
html command to your photos. Alt labeling your web photos
can enable handicapped people more access your web site
information with speech assisted software and the search engines
will reward you. Google and the other search engines do not see
your photos, only the source code correlating to words on the
page. By alt labeling your photos you are letting Google know
the content of your photos. Google and other search engines now
also do image searches,
so your site could be pulled up as the results of someone's
Google inquiry
based on your image's alt tagging.
C.
Sitemaps
Update your site content
often, including your
xml sitemap.
Always try to keep current, unique
and relevant content on your web pages.
Get involved in social networking
with your own
blog,
MySpace page
and other social channels. Try to get your web page
address posted on advertising and written or cyber published
pages. Email other web masters and ask them to link to
your page. Be sure to have
something of value on your site to
entice them to link to your page.

"It's
All About The Content."
The phrase came from an

search engine optimization techniques.
Here is Roy's
optimizing tip:
"Honestly, you need
some meta tags like
title, description and keyword
just to have an input on how the search engines will
label your web site.
The biggest suggestion I have
is to check out your
keywords before you put
a lot of effort into getting them ranked. You don't
want to be at the top of Google for a search term
that doesn't get any
traffic. Run statistics
on your potential keywords to see
how much traffic
they received in the last 30 days.
This will let you
know quickly how much effort to put into particular
keywords. Also find out how many web sites are
competing for your potential keywords. There are
several keyword
analyzing software packages
both as free downloads
and others at a cost. Use a keyword term that is
less competitive, but still relevant to your page
contents and receives enough traffic for you
to get your share. This way you get the biggest bang
for the buck on your efforts optimizing your web
site for that keyword phrase. Always use a phrase
instead of a word for your keywords. This will allow
you to be more focused as well.
It's really all about the
content on the page.
Fresh, unique and relevant content is the best way
to achieve a top Google inquiry result for a
particular keyword phrase.

FREE Web Site Optimizing
Information:
Always have a
content rich site that has new,
updated and
unique information.
You will never get a good search
engine ranking with a site that consists of information already
duplicated on the web. All your pages must have unique
information. Meta tagging does not contribute to search engine
ranking like it once did. Google looks at your entire site
and weighs the overall message it is delivering. If your
business is selling boats, then the overall concept of your site
needs to be focused on boating with unique information about
boating. Selling your product needs to be a secondary
consideration. Your site needs to bring new, current and
unique information about boating to the web.
Never use spamming techniques,
mirror sites, entry pages,
link farms or keyword stuffing in your site.
This may get your site on the black list of the search engines
and your site may never recover. Focus on having a quality,
information filled site that Google and yahoo will want to index
and add to the top 10.
You need a
professional website with a great
sitemap for your customers
and a xml sitemap for the search
engine bots to index.
A professional website should have similar
font, colors and organization on all pages so its easy for the
customers to navigate. Always write your page content for
your customers, not the search engines. If you have quality and
current information on your site the search engines will reward
you with a top ranking.
Be patient, and keep fine tuning
your site. It take time even when you have done everything you
can to make your site user and search engine friendly.
Stay away from link farms! If the search engines detect a
connection to link farms or spamming sites your in big trouble.
Write and submit article for
publication to other related sites
on your products and/or services. Always include a link to
your site. This is a great way to bring quality traffic to
your site. Reach out to other websites in your related field for
a link on their sites. This is never easy and takes
persistence, but the rewards can be great for your ranking. If
you have a high quality informative page other related sites may
consider linking with you.
Avoid exchanging links just for
ranking purposes. This is easily detected by the search
engines and you may be penalized for this practice.
Remember the search engines are
looking for quality, related,
unique
and updated
information
for the web, not the fact that you have
linked with another site trying to sell the same products you
are selling. You have to bring new information to the table.
Always keep your site information current and updated with new
information. Nothing will kill
your site like old out of date information.
Keep your sitemap update also.
You also need to have a
customer sitemap and a search
engine sitemap
with a XML extension.
Search engines use you xml sitemap and your robot.txt file to
see how you want your site indexed and how often you are adding
new information to your site. You can use Google Webmaster Tools
to check for errors in your sitemaps and to submit your sitemaps
to Google. Google webmaster tools also provides great feedback
on your site's keywords density and other parameters useful to
tracking your site's success.
